Become a test centre
The examination is taken online, so a centre is a supervised room and a reliable connection rather than a licensed venue.
What a centre does now
CELP is sat online, in the candidate's own browser, under automated invigilation. Most candidates sit it at home and never see a venue.
A test centre exists for candidates who want or need supervision: those without a suitable device or connection, those who prefer a formal setting, and institutions that want their own cohort sat under observation.
What we ask of a centre
- A quiet room with one workstation per candidate and space between them
- A device per candidate with a working camera, microphone and up-to-date browser
- A connection that will carry the sitting without interruption
- A named supervisor present for the whole session
- A documented process for checking candidate identity on arrival
What a centre does not do
Centres do not mark, do not hold question papers and do not see results. Marking is done by CELP examiners; the centre's role is the room and the supervision.
Applying
Write to candidates@celp.org with the subject line "Centre application", describing the room, the equipment and the supervising staff. We arrange a check sitting before approving a centre.
